Wannabe Congress “Squad” Member? MoCo Councilmember (“At-Large”) and US Congressional Candidate Laurie-Ann Sayles Employees a Rabid Anti-Israel “Progressive” Who Loves a Far Left Rant

Councilmember Laurie-Ann Sayles (also a current candidate in the Democrat primary for a US House District in Maryland) is supposed to be a Councilmember “At-Large”, meaning she represents the entirety of Montgomery County, population estimated to about 1.13 million residents in 2022.

But it seems like CM Sayles really think she was elected to represent just a few far-left special interests, as her council staff appears to be full of very interesting characters who don’t seem to model tolerance or pluralism very much.  It is all far left ideology, all the time.  Oh, and of course, anti-Israel postings non-stop.

Back in April, we highlighted the bizarre writings and rantings of Sayle’s Chief of Staff.  Now, we turn our attention to one of CM Sayles’s “Legislative Aides”, Ezra Pine.  First profiled by Sayles back in December of 2022 (The “Sayles Sentinel”):

Per his own public-facing Twitter / X account, Mr. Pine is apparently a big fan of recently-censured fire alarm puller, Democratic New York Congressman Jamaal Bowman, a firebrand who seemingly always supports “The Squad” on matters trivial and important.  Here is one of the lone media images from the X account, taken in 2021 (screen capture from twitter.com):

Hey, I am sure Rep. Bowman is a cool guy when he isn’t disrupting official Congressional proceedings, then lying about why he did so.

But, Bowman-love aside, what is much more eye-catching are the things Mr. Pine reposts and shares, over and over again on Twitter / X (all screen shots below are from @pine_ezra on Twitter.com):

Ah yes, the ol’ George W Bush as “Antichrist” comparison.

It would appear that his boss, CM Sayles, doesn’t quite share his distaste and repeated posts about the state of Israel or slanted takes on the Israel-Hamas conflict.  Per a MoCo360.Media inquiry to Councilmembers back in November:

Laurie-Anne Sayles (D-At-large): “With the atrocities committed against Israelis on Oct. 7 and the hostages taken into Gaza, the resulting war to eliminate the perpetrators is leaving civilians on both sides at greater risk than at any time in recent history. I stand with President [Joe] Biden, whose response to this crisis has been exemplary. We call on the [Biden] administration to rescue the hundreds of hostages while striving to prevent civilian casualties. As a county, we must respond by listening to our interfaith communities and lifting the voices of those most impacted by this issue. We must help people feel safe and welcome in our communities and stay vigilant in the fight against hate and violence right here at home.”

Hate “right here at home” in MoCo, indeed.  Must make for some interesting “Sayles Council Team” meetings in Rockville.

More to come.
