In continuing a series (Part 1, Part 2) on the use of Twitter by County Council members there is an update as it relates to several members of the county council.
We are happy to report that newly elected council members have (so far) upheld not only a commitment to transparency but also to recent court precedent.
- Natali Gonzalez (@natalifgonzalez) – no blocked accounts
- Marilyn Balcombe (@marilynbalcombe) – 2 blocked account that were making sexually explicit/obscene comments (@demisuttra1 and @_collegegirlss)
- Kristin Mink (@kristinmink_ ) – no blocked accounts
- Dawn Luedtke (@dawn_luedtke) – no blocked accounts
- Kate Stewart (@cmkatestewart) – no blocked accounts
- Laurie Anne Sayles (@cm_sayles) – no blocked accounts
Three veteran members also provided an update.
- Andrew Friedson (@andrew_friedson) – no blocked accounts. However, Andrew deemed that his other account (@amfriedson) is personal. We will be doing a deep dive analysis over the coming days to see if this is indeed the case.
- Sidney Katz (@MC_Council_Katz) – no blocked accounts
- Gabe Albornoz (@albornoz_gabe and @gabealbornoz1) – no blocked accounts. Hat tip to Gabe who did not attempt to claim “personal” status to his second twitter account.
If you have been blocked by any of these accounts, please reach out and provide the details.
It should be noted that we also learned today that Will Jawando has denied transparency on the block list for his Twitter account (@willjawando). Starting last week, Will went on a twitter blocking spree, and today announced he now has a new “official” twitter account. This is a blatant attempt to try and circumvent an MPIA.
