On November 21st, County Executive Marc Elrich held his FY24 Budget Meeting, allowing questions to be posed in a hybrid format. During the meeting, one question was related to Long-Covid. In his response, Marc announced that he has symptoms of long-COVID.
Marc tested positive for COVID on New Years Day 2022, saying “I have mild symptoms, just feeling tired, and I am grateful to be vaccinated and boosted. I will be isolating but will continue to work from home,”
The listing of symptoms for long-COVID are long, and some of them very serious in relation to the ability for a person to carry out public service work. The symptoms include:
- Brain dysfunction, including brain fog
- Mood disorders
- Heart issues
- Tiredness that interferes with daily life
Marc has not been transparent on his current condition, and in fact ran an entire re-election campaign without disclosing long-COVID. What is going on? Does he really have long COVID, or was his answer simply a political ploy.
