Jamie Raskin, Local County Council Acolytes, Strangely Silent on Democracy-Smashing Fraud Found in Bridgeport, CT Democratic Primary Election

Congressman Jamie Raskin (Democrat, District 8 in Maryland representing most of Montgomery County, MD) runs something he calls “Democracy Summer”.

Raskin is constantly on DC-based national news show and networks like CNN, pontificating on American democracy, international democracy, and “Constitutional Law” — mainly pertaining to former President Donald J. Trump.

Raskin also likes to opine on “local democracy” and voting and voter fraud when it pertains to other jurisdictions beyond just Maryland or MoCo.  Here he is featured in a DCist article about DC election law and election safeguards this past summer:

Raskin (D-Maryland) said non-citizen voting dated back to the country’s early years, and largely dismissed Republican security claims as concerns over “the possibility that a handful of Russian diplomats could sway in an advisory neighborhood commission election in Dupont Circle.

Yeah!  Take that Russian vote and eat it, you Dupont Circle denizens concerned about local election fraud and direct citizen representation, he (Raskin), seems to imply.  Don’t want Russian foreign nationals to determine who is on your neighborhood advisory?  Too bad!

Of course, the Congressman almost always uses the word “democracy” in a far different way then it has been classically or literally understood.  Our own guest poster Ryan covered the nomenclature here a few months ago.

Raskin is the intellectual and political leader of many on the Montgomery County Council.  What he says, they unanimously second.  Here is a screen cap from May of 2021 on CM Evan Glass’s campaign page, touting a Raskin endorsement:

Anyway, the point of this post is to simply ask — where are CM Evan Glass and Congressman Raskin and all the democracy acolytes on the County Council on the recent election fraud revelations that shook the Connecticut political world this past week?  This was a direct assault on local (American) democracy – and specifically local Democrat primary voters!

From CTMirror.org:

A Superior Court judge has ordered a new Democratic mayoral primary in Bridgeport, ruling that challenger John Gomes’ claims of unprecedented absentee ballot fraud merit a new election.

The judge ordered the two sides and city election officials to meet within the next 10 days to begin discussions about when to hold a primary and to have an answer by Nov. 17.

Wow!  Actual election fraud in a Democratic mayoral primary, in a Democrat-governed state similar to Maryland (for now) with similar absentee balloting laws and rules!  Surely this will be expounded upon by Rep Raskin and others.  Browbeaten.  Exposed in the media.  Rallied against.  Never forget!  An investigative committee to be formed immediately!

Oh.

Well, maybe acolyte Evan Glass, a defender of local democracy, will weigh in?

Ah.  Democracy!
