The local headlines are on repeat. Rinse, wash, and repeat. Almost as predictable as the day is long. “County grants $XX/YY Thousands to Deter Hate Crimes” they blare. “Places of worship to receive $XX funding to prevent hate.”
An “anti-hate” task force is commissioned. Its recommendations are long on grievance and grifting, short on actual ideas or new policy.
The County-sponsored “Committee Against Hate/Violence” keeps meeting and discussing things. Discussing what? We, the public, no longer know. They passed a motion last April that meetings will “no longer be recorded” after CleanSlateMoCo.com’s cheeky reporting on a publicly available video. Where is the transparency?
Did the taxpayers ever get refunded for that public picnic put on by the Committee Against Hate/Violence with a vendor that couldn’t pass a food safety inspection? We don’t know.
Now, taxpayer funds ($900,000 per image above) will go to “Non-Profit Security Grants” in MoCo. Once again. All the politically connected non-profits are no doubt interested and will have their hands out. Perhaps some of the grants will trickle back to a few smaller orgs that truly need it. Maybe these security measures will deter a hate crime. Who honestly knows?
Why is there so much hate in “safe and inclusive” MoCo? Well for starters — MoCo isn’t really “inclusive”. Certainly not its government or political machine-connected institutions. The County government is led by a rabid partisan ideologue who barely won his party’s primary, Mr. Elrich, a CE doesn’t even make friends in his own political party. He’s widely reviled in Annapolis, MD now because of comments he constantly makes denigrating people who disagree with his socialist, high-taxation ideology. This single machine party controls all the levers of power locally and is corrupting its decaying institutions, daily.
There is even a shortage of uniformed police officers in the County leading to public safety being a concern among taxpayers. Wonder why?
And the County Council won’t even forcefully rebuke hatred being spewed by a new Councilmember, Kristin Mink, unless or until it spills out into the national spotlight. Then the apologies come quickly, just until the media storm blows over.
The County Executive, Elrich, in public comments today announcing the grant money to be doled out, yet again, said the following (per MoCo360.Media / Ginny Bixby reporting)
You see? You parents, you’re the problem according to the County Exec. You rubes, you uneducated heathens (doesn’t MoCo boast about high levels of college-educated adults?).
Just let the schools (aka Elrich’s government or his picked cronies) take over education and the curriculum in full. Stop asking questions about what is taught at MCPS, you serf. You’ll see utopia and kumbaya cooperation break out across MoCo if you listen to Uncle Marc. Marc has been to Vietnam, Taiwan, El Salvador and back (most of it on your dime). He’s a man of the world (and of the Marxian influence).
We should all thank former CM Hans Riemer for getting Elrich across the finish line one more time in the 2022 Democrat primary.
