Council Member Will Jawando was endorsed by ‘Our Revolution MD’ prior to the 2022 County Council election.
‘Our Revolution MD’ is a state-level org/entity of the geriatric Senator and twice-defeated Presidential candidate Bernie Sanders’ org called “Our Revolution”, a partisan (527?) organization that wants full-bore socialism and centralized power in the hands of a few insiders in Washington, DC. Somehow centralizing power and decision-making in the hands of a few will solve every problem.
Every solution presented by the group to a problem is more government, and therefore more “ruling class” edicts. Many of these solutions will never be enacted nearby by the very politicians that promote them.
Council Member Jawando, seeking the endorsement of the Bernie set in Montgomery County, filled out a candidate questionnaire where he stated the following:

The council member could be “greening the grid” right now, at his massive property in Ashton-Sandy Spring, Maryland. Recently closed on in July of 2021, the nearly 7,000 square foot mansion boasts over 2.8 acres of lot space per its listing.
Per a post on LinkedIn (so take with a grain of skeptical salt): In Iowa, an acre of solar panels produces 198,870 kilowatt hours each year. A typical EV drives approximately 3.6 miles per kilowatt hour. So, each year, an acre of solar panels produces enough energy for an EV to drive 710,250 miles.
That’s a lot of power. Let’s say it’s even a third of that estimate. Doesn’t the “climate emergency” dictate his property be utilized, immediately, for solar power? And couldn’t additional space host windmills or small turbines?
Will the Council Member be setting up a solar farm, adjacent to the beautiful home that overlooks a serene green space? We are, of course, “absolutely in a climate emergency” — his exact words this past fall.
