The electoral earthquake we all felt November 5 has had its predictable reactions. Personally, I’m not overly charmed by the degree of vindication we see in some (certainly not all) pro-Trump channels. After all, the GOP victors must be gracious to their opponents, and they certainly must avoid the hubris and dismissiveness the progressives have inflicted on everybody for a generation.
In contrast, what satisfies the informal definition of “rich” is the reactions from our progressive members on the County Council and their supporters. Here is one example from Clean Slate MoCo’s Twitter feed.
So 1 out of every 4 people that @cmkatestewart represent she feels a need to resist? How does MoCo build an inclusive community with that type of leadership? https://t.co/ZCxPFmZUQa

Ms. Stewart dedicates herself to being kind, bold, and resist. Has she been kind to up-county residents stuck in soul-crushing traffic jams trying to get to work in DC or Northern Virginia? Has she been kind to struggling parents trying to free their children from failing schools? Look at the longstanding grievances we published in The 2024 Budget Vote, When the Reformers Failed Us. Someone who is kind would have addressed any—just one—of those.
Here is a reaction from CM Kristin Mink:
One of the most important things for Dems to do is figure out how to become competitive in the information ecosystem. Outside election season, year-round.
We can’t afford to keep ceding the space to billionaire-funded far-right influencers peddling hate and propaganda.

Ceding media space to billionaire-funded far-right influencers peddling hate and propaganda? What about billionaire far-left influencers such as George Sorros and Oprah Winfrey? And the last person to complain about peddling hate and propaganda is Kristin Mink.
If you want to see what kind, bold, and resist looks like, try Brenda Diaz. Anyone who has the opportunity to hear her speak is struck by her competence, intelligence, and accomplishment. She had the boldness to run for office, she had the courage to resist a manipulative teachers’ union, and above all she has the kindness to listen to struggling families who were trying to free their children from failing schools. Not Mink, not Stewart, and not the seven puppets on the Board of Education have anywhere near the character that Ms. Diaz has.
Similar to Ms. Diaz, Clean Slate MoCo advocates quite strongly for those who are denied kindness. We do our best to be bold, and we certainly highlight where resistance is necessary against a monolithic progressive oligarchy that has given so much to so few. CMs Stewart, Mink, and anyone else who feels the need to be kind, bold, and resist are invited to submit posts to inquiry@cleanslatemoco.com
