It is good to be livin’ large and in charge in MoCo. Us regular hoi polloi in the needlessly expensive, high-tax, housing-short county? Not so much. But it is good to see that a select few are living well in the neighborhood! Remember – these are the people who care deeply about “income inequality” and ensuring “equity” in government spending.
Previously, we showcased CM Will Jawando’s million-dollar estate in the Sandy Spring-Ashton area – an estate so large, he could easily host an acre of solar panels – with room to spare. Why doesn’t the CM host solar panels? That’s a question for him. But, at least he has the space to host the governor of Maryland for his birthday bash!
Now, we can showcase the mansion of CM Dawn Luedtke, who is hosting the MoCo Young Democrats “Paint the County Blue Fundraiser / Party” on September 24.
Per the EventBrite entry, the fundraiser is “celebrating what it means to be a Democrat”:
Interesting. Well, in MoCo at least, what it means to “be a Democrat” seems to mean very little – unless they mean an “elected Democrat” – in which case it means incredible power, privilege and access to lots of money (other people’s money) and the ability to shower favors onto connected businesses who first contribute a little cheddar to your campaign.
“Painting the County Blue” is also an interesting title. The County government already is blue – it has been run by elected Democrats for decades and its County Executive, a Democrat, has been in office for 36+ years. It can’t be “painted blue” in any darker a shade. And as a result, it is a stagnant, declining county with an economy wholly dependent on the federal government and a select few occupations. It also carries a ton of debt – but don’t worry – triple-A rated! Just like the federal government’s debt situation. Wink wink.
Could we get a shade of green, red, purple or yellow in the County government? No? Just blue? How just an independent free thinker on the County Council committed to public safety?
Back to the hosts’ mansion in Sandy Spring. It sounds and looks incredible (you’ve got to have the large walk-in closet to show solidarity with the masses):
I’ve got two tickets to paradise
Won’t you pack your bags, we’ll leave tonight
