Evan Glass’s Class on Social Media. LOL

I must admit, I spit out my coffee reading the Moco360 Media’s Political Notes section today.  About halfway down there was a quick summary of the Maryland Association of Counties (MACo) Conference.  If you aren’t familiar with this conference, it is held yearly in Ocean City.  During the event, outside of taking a multitude of pictures of sunsets and glasses of wine, politicians attend seminars to make sure they are all drinking the exact same flavor of kool-aid.

It seems this year, Evan Glass was a keynote speaker on “It’s More Than Likes and Shares – Unlocking the Power of Social Media to Engage Communities.”

This is the same person that has notoriously silenced voices across Montgomery County by blocking people on his social media platform.  We recently wrote an article on his refusal to respond to an MPIA requesting a listing of people he has blocked, claiming that the account was private.  This is despite a pile of evidence showing his use of the account shared county information, engaged the community, and utilized official county logos.

They hypocrisy is striking.  I wonder if one of his slides discussed “how to block dissenting voices to create an echo chamber of support”?
